Our Start

the importance of feeling and being your best.

Reaching for sustainability:

the changes we started with were small. Before we founded our company, we always had a love for the outdoors. from various trips to state parks and beaches with nature preserves for plants or animals we became more connected to our planet.

Through all our tiny trips we began to notice one thing; though we went on these trips to connect to our earth's natural green oasis', it wasn't always green.

The issue was apparent, there were things in the environment not natural, plaguing the habitat for those who dwelled in it; not to mention the chain affect it had on those ecosystems.

Specifically plastic waste, how Harmful was it? How long would it take to degrade? I began to think to myself which later turned into its own research out of curiosity.

As humans we have produced over 8 billion metric tons of garbage, with about 6.3 of that being plastic waste.  To put it in perspective since the patented production of plastic less than 10% of eligible plastic has been recycled. What happens to plastic that isn't recycled? Most of our plastic is single use, straws or plastic bags that would go to landfills, but...

what happen when it doesn't make it to landfills? It ends up in our natural environments and begins to damage them. while any given type of durable plastic will take 10-100+ years to degrade it doesn't completely just dissolve. Not only is plastic made from fossil fuels (like oil, gases, and coal) that has its own worry for climate change or another phrase commonly known, "Global warming", but it also never really goes away.

This beginning stage of plastic degrading causes microplastics to come into existence. What are microplastics? Just as you suspected they are microscopic pieces of plastic. following the effects on our eco systems These circulate in our natural environments until they make their way into our food chain. They have been detected in our fresh waters, foods, air, and even drinking water sources.

plastic to fabric

The process starts with collecting all kinds of recyclable bottles

These recycled bottles are thoroughly sanitized and stripped of all excess packaging

They are then sorted by colors and shredded.

This is when the shredded material from the recycling is melted down.

From this melted down material yarn is created and spun into fabrics.

It is at this point our partners are able to help us create our merchandise. all while keeping our planet, people, and home places in mind.
